To set up a website, please email oec@ucsd.edu with the following information.

  • Your name
  • Your UCSD email address
  • Desired domain name (mycoolsite.ucsd.edu)
  • Your choice of Content Management System

Easy to use

Website appearance is controlled by Themes. The Themes are not very flexible compared to other Content Management Systems, so the design choices are limited.

There are many themes to choose from. No limitations in design choices.

OEC will help install the WordPress website, but will hand off the website to the customer. The customer is responsible for installing security updates/patches.

No design limitations. We can provide web design services for Drupal websites if needed. We help set up and maintain the website, including installing security updates. Training videos are provided.

A little more difficult to use than other options.
